Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup 226 g unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup 200 g sugar
  • cups 180 g all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup 120 mL sour cream
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 2 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp ora pro nobis powder

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking powder. Set aside.
  3. In a stand mixer, beat butter and sugar until smooth. Add sour cream and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing on medium speed and scraping the bowl as needed.
  5. Add the dry ingredients and mix just until combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Transfer about one-third of the batter to a separate bowl. Stir in the ora pro nobis powder until evenly blended.
To marble:
  1. Layer one-third of the plain batter into the pan, followed by half of the green batter. Repeat, ending with plain batter on top. Gently swirl with a knife in a figure-eight motion.
  2. Bake for about 50 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
